Hosting Support / Downloading/Uploading speed; a bit slow
« on: September 03, 2016, 02:26:32 AM »
Hello,

I am currently in the midst of backing up my website and I am experiencing some difficulties or more so a bit of an annoying feeling about the download/upload speed. I have checked my own connection, which seems fine so I was wondering if things are a bit slow due to possible traffic or something on the servers. If so, what would be the best time to do backups? I'm in the CET (GMT+1, West-Europe) timezone and would love to be able to do backups without being held back too much.

Thanks in advance.

Hosting Support / .Well-Known folder; What is it?
« on: September 03, 2016, 02:11:39 AM »
Hello,

I am currently in the midst of backing up my website www.teenwolfonline.net and I noticed there's a directory called .well-known in there. I haven't put it there, so I have no idea what it is and what it might be for.

Regards,

Hello,

First of all I'd like to say thank you for all the great new services that you are providing us (me) with. I do have a question though... teenwolfonline.net is currently offline and is displaying this error:

Quote
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 12288 bytes) in /home/teenwolf/public_html/wp/wp-admin/includes/plugin.php on line 548

What is this? What does this mean?

Regards,
Manuela

Hi Lindsay,

I was wondering if you were aware of the fact that some sites are offline. I am unable to connect with teenwolfonline.net due to DNS issues according to Google Chrome. What's going on?

Manuela

Tutorials / How to resize photos and remove EXIF data
« on: August 31, 2015, 05:19:25 AM »
It was mandatory at one point at Starszz to resize all our photos and this is a tutorial that will make things a lot easier.

1) Download FastStone's Photo Resizer.
2) Install the software

As it is pretty straight forward, I will only explain how to remove EXIF data and get the correct settings for resizing.

3) Click on 'Settings'

4) Copy the settings from the screenshot posted below and click on OK

5) Then click on advanced options pretty much below Settings and Browse.
6) Copy the settings from the screenshot posted below and click on OK.

The rest is pretty much optional. You're able to save the options you've selected above and load them in after you did a clean installation. You're also able to watermark images and it'll save you KBs as Coppermine's watermark function takes up a bunch of MBs.
- You're able to rename images in a batch
- You're able to keep the original data from the photos

You're able to do a lot with this program and it'll save up a LOT of time if you're resizing or even renaming your photos. :)

Hosting Support / teenwolfonline.net loads very slow
« on: August 27, 2015, 07:46:42 AM »
Hi Lindsay,

I've contacted you about this issue before but never got any reply, but I was wondering what else I can do to make the site's homepage to load slower. Coppermine etc. loads very, very fast, it's just the site itself that's incredibly slow and I don't want to lose visitors because of that.
I already have WP Super Cache installed.

Hope you're able to help me out.

Thank you.

Hello,

I have been having issues with Coppermine Fetch (latest images) for the past few weeks now and I've contacted the coppermine-forums about it. I was asked to disable strict standards in PHP 5.4 in order to solve the issue. I'll post the link below, quotes included.

Quote
However, if I try to open http://teenwolfonline.net/photos/cpmfetch/cpmfetch.php I get this error:
Quote
Strict Standards: Declaration of cpm::debugPrint() should be compatible with cpm_dao::debugPrint() in /home/teenwolf/public_html/photos/cpmfetch/cpmfetch.php on line 50

Quote
As a quick fix, please disable strict standards messages: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9983286/disabling-strict-standards-in-php-5-4

Can an admin or someone else help solve this?

Shameless Plugs / Teen Wolf Online is now hosted at stars.bz!
« on: August 13, 2015, 11:55:38 AM »
It took me a while to get things set, but Teen Wolf Online has finally been moved to stars.bz and I'm such a proud hostee and grateful of the fact that Lindsay allowed my fansite to be hosted here at such a short notice with everything that's going on in the fansite world right now.

Teen Wolf Online was established back in 2011 (July 14th to be exact) as a dedication the MTV's Teen Wolf. Although I doubt it's one of the most visited Teen Wolf fansite, I am definitely sure that it has done very well with all the fansites out there which I'm very proud of.

Teen Wolf Online was able to do small projects for Adam Rose (Lydia Martin's dad), Dino Meneghin and most recently Ryan Kelley (Deputy Jordan Parrish) whom has sent me an autograph as a thank you.

I love Teen Wolf so much and I wouldn't dare to think about giving the fansite up. I'm just that proud of it and everything surrounding the fansite. The Teen Wolf fanbase has grown into this very solid fanbase which is awesome to see on social networks.

Well, this is the end of my rant for now, haha!

If you're a fan of Teen Wolf or any of the actors/actresses on the show, be sure to visit teenwolfonline.net!

Hosting Support / Teen Wolf Online.net doesn't load its complete page
« on: August 13, 2015, 11:12:28 AM »
Hello,

I've been wondering why it's almost impossible for teenwolfonline.net to load its entire page as a whole. It's only showing its header and I can't seem to wonder why 'cause when I type in teenwolfonline.net/wp or if I go to a random page on the site, everything seems to be working just fine and I don't want to bother Lindsay with everything that's going on. :P
