Coppermine Displaying A Different Number of Images
« on: April 14, 2013, 21:55:48 PM »
Alright, the title doesn't explain it all.

Basically, last night, I uploaded thousands of pictures and they all show up like they should. There are 26,556 images.
I went to bed and got onto my iPod to save a few of the images to there, but they didn't show up, it said there were 19,606. I used Safari. I thought it was maybe the browser, so then I went to Chrome on there, still 19606. But Opera said what I wanted... 26556.

That was weird.
I brushed it off.

Today I sent my friend Sara this picture with this URL: http://ahsfans.com/photos/albums/Appearances/2012/EmmyAwards/071.jpg
She could see it, it was uploaded yesterday among the many that were.
I also sent it to my friend Nicky. He couldn't access it. I asked him how many pictures are in the gallery? He responded with 19606.
This is weird. So for some these uploads are non-existent for some.

I have attached two screencaps made within 5-10 minutes of each other.

I believe I know the reason for this.

We transferred all accounts to a new server yesterday and updated the DNS. You must still be reaching the old server so your uploads went there, while your friend Nicky is looking at the site from the new server so he doesn't see the latest uploads.

I will start to re-grab your files from the old server right now so that nothing is missing.

Sorry about that.

Thank you so much, Lindsay!

No problem Jennifer. Your gallery should be fixed now. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.

I have looked in your drewroy account (where wilson-bethel.com is) Kieran, and on the new server you are using 1.7 GB, while on the old server, only 1.4 GB. So it seems you have uploaded additional content onto the new server already.

I don't wish to re-grab things and overwrite any of your existing files. Are you able to upload your missing files again? If not, if you could let me know what is missing, I can get those files specifically.

I should be able to re-upload everything, thanks Lindsay!

I'm not having issues with uploading photos to Coppermine but I'm trying to active a theme I'm working on for an order, but it's not showing up in the config, but it's there in the site's directory. Is this something caused by the server move? I uploaded it about 20 minutes ago (max.).

It is unlikely to be a server move issue. Which theme are you trying to activate?

I only see 3 themes in your themes folder (both on the new and old server), and the last one was uploaded last month (March 16).

Can you tell me the name of the folder? I will check to see if they are actually on the old server or the new one.

It is indeed on the old server AJ. Seems like it was uploaded yesterday, so the DNS changes may not have propagated to you yet at that time.

Try to refresh your FTP client to make sure you are not looking at a cached directory.

If you can still see it in FTP, but not when you try to batch add, can you post the hostname you are connecting to in your FTP client. Thank you.

Okay I see you are connecting with the IP address. That would explain it. That IP is for the old server.

Please connect to FTP with your domain name. :)

I was talking about themes in Coppermine, if you were referring to WordPress. The theme is called inpunkwettrust, if I remember rightly. :-)

Sorry my bad. For some reason I thought you were talking about a WordPress theme.

I see that you have the theme uploaded onto the old server. Were you connecting to FTP with your domain name? If not, could you try connecting with your domain name as the FTP host, and uploading the theme again. :)
