We have implemented a new security measure to discourage brute-force hacking attempts on your WordPress login.
When logging in to WordPress, all hostees will now be presented with an additional
Human Security Check.
This is a popup prompt which requires a login/password before letting you proceed. The credentials have been emailed to all our existing clients.
Any new WordPress that is installed will also have this new security check added
automatically. Everything else will function as normal. The credentials will only need to be entered once per session, and only when logging into WordPress.
The login/password can be saved in your browser so you don’t need to type it every time.
Why Is This Necessary?Brute forcing WordPress logins (trying to guess them) is nothing new, but recently there has been a massive surge in these hacking attempts. With this security check, it stops the bots dead in their tracks.
Another additional option that hostees should consider is using
Cloudflare. It is free to sign up and will not only protect your fansite from many security threats, but also helps improve performance with their CDN and static content caching.
