How can I add a matching top navigation to Coppermine?
« on: August 25, 2015, 18:30:16 PM »
I was wondering if anyone, maybe a website designer, could explain to me how I can copy my current WordPress theme's top menu/navigation onto my Coppermine Gallery. I would love to have the same top navigation at the very top of my current Coppermine Gallery theme. I've come across a tutorial at http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/theme_create_matching_page_tutorial.htm which I'm not so sure about, especially since my website theme is a responsive theme with a drop down menu.

Here's my site: http://mikeposnerhits.com

If someone could explain to me on how to do this, I'd really appreciate the help. I just know that I'll need to add some coding to the template.html as well as in style.css, and I'm not fully sure on what coding I'll need to be sure to copy from my WordPress theme to make it work.

Thanks in advance!

This is how my top menu/navigation looks like on my website, and it has a drop down menu.

I don't know the coding of that particular theme, but by looking into its source, you would need to search for the classes below in your theme's .css file;

Quote
<div class="collapse navbar-collapse navbar-ex1-collapse"><ul id="menu-top-menu" class="nav navbar-nav"><li id="menu-item-9464" class="menu-item menu-item-type-custom menu-item-object-custom current-menu-item current_page_item menu-item-home menu-item-9464 active"><a title="News"

Thanks for replying.  :)

OK. I'm not sure I'll be able to figure out how to do this. I'll try to look at Coppermine's tutorial again or maybe ask on their forum. I'm usually good at figuring out how to do things on my own, and sometimes getting help by searching for tutorials for the answers. My problem is figuring out what codes I need to apply to the template.html & style.css to make it happen. I may have to scrap the drop down menu idea since it's complicated (for me LOL) and just try and get a black background at the top of the gallery page with all the same top links as my WordPress theme. I'm gonna try, but I may just give up on it.

As far as I know, copying the above (CSS) and .css coding into your template.html and style.css should do the trick. :)
